Before beginning your application, please refer to our Requirements for Entry page for admissions requirements.
If you are a transfer applicant (BS degree) new to the UM, apply to the University of Minnesota:

If you are a current or former degree-seeking UM student (including system campuses) applying to the BS program:
If you have ever been enrolled as a degree-seeking student at the UM-TC or UM Rochester, apply for admission to Medical Lab Sciences by completing the Change of College form.

MMLS: New Master's program applicants who have a BA/BS and are seeking initial certification.
Certificate: Applicants with a BA/BS who are seeking initial certification.
Affiliate: Applicants from our affiliate schools - UM-Duluth, UM-Rochester, St. Cloud State U, MSU-Mankato, and UW-River Falls who are earning degrees at your home institutions and the MLS certification through the UMTC.
Apply through AHCAS.
All applicants must submit official transcripts directly to AHCAS. For additional questions regarding AHCAS transcript entry, please visit the AHCAS Transcript Entry webpage.
The UMTC MLS application does NOT require recommendations. Click on the box indicating "I am not adding any evaluations" on the Recommendations page of the AHCAS application.
International Applicants: The Professional Master's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MMLS) has been approved to accept international students on an F1 visa. Applicants with other visa types should contact [email protected] for further information on admission eligibility.

- International applicants must submit English proficiency score(s). Please send scores to AHCAS. To view proficiency exams currently accepted by the University of Minnesota:
International applicants MUST submit a World Education Services (WES) evaluation of all coursework taken outside of a U.S. Institution. Evaluations must be sent directly to AHCAS.
